Pedro Mercado, 82, of North Riverside, died on March 21, 2018 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Born on April 26, 1935 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Mr. Mercado lived in North Riverside for 22 years. He was retired from his job as a cook at the Chicago Hilton and Towers hotel.
Mr. Mercado was the husband of Iris (nee Vega); the father of Iris (Othon) Nunez, Jose A. Brenes, Nelson Mercado, Carmen Mercado and Michael Mercado; and the grandfather, great-grandfather and the brother of many.
A funeral Mass was celebrated March 24 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
