As long as we’re handing out compliments, we’d like to give a shout out to Riverside Arts Center, which has responded to the coronavirus crisis not but closing its doors and calling it a day but by expanding access to cultural programs and artistic activities.

Last week, FlexSpace Gallery director Liz Chilsen moderated a panel of folks representing Chicago area arts organizations (you can read that story by clicking here) and what it demonstrates is their commitment to the arts as essential to a functioning society and to making the arts available despite the crises we’ve faced in the past seven months.

Riverside Arts Center remains a jewel of the community and worthy of every resident’s support. They’re proving that despite an uncertain future, the arts will be part of it.
